Introducing Myself

Am cracking on with the non-fiction course with Writers Bureau. Luckily getting a succession of things published including first-time-try with Readers Digest and Amateur Gardening.

My web has been mentioned on UK's Write This Moment and USA's Writer's Gazette - yippee!

December update is on www.lesleybonney.co.uk with a chocolate competition. It's easy - I only need your name! Closing date is 15 January. Learning how to update the web myself too, gulp!

Entered the opening chapter of Kangaroo Land in a competition, and have another to enter! Sent of two kids stories to Hilary Johnson's Advisory Service. Kangaroo Land is next.

Keep on writing xxxx

Hoping to get s dongle for the laptop ... just need to consider which provider as coverage where I've been is a bit hit and miss.
I have two exhibitions coming up - one between Christmas and New Year, and the other next August, in the delightful coastal town of Robin Hoods Bay. Who knows ... there might even be free chocolate samples on offer! So am excited about them....
What's happening with you then?

Lesley I have no current links to share and thanks for your new one. Look forward to reading more updates. I also agree with Christine below, its been like a ghost town on this site the past month.

I don't think you'll be dissapointed with Hilary's service. You're right it is very quiet on the site at the moment. Everyone must be busy writing or they've all gone on holiday.

Hi Lesley, juts back from a much needed short holiday down in Cornwall, computer- and client-free. Bliss,

Another sale! Great stuff! And I do hope you enjoy it. A lot of my own marketing of it thus far has been through the therapy profession but it certainy wasn't written for therapists but for a general readership. I'm glad Hazel asked to look at your work, I had to contend with coutnless rejections, most of whom never asked to see the manuscript and most of the rejection letters were pre-printed "Dear Author,,," ~ All I can say is keep faith in your own work, but as they say, 'don't be afraid to kill off your darlings'.

Hi Lesley, thanks for the friend add. I've found that the editing can go on for ever until I wonder if I'll ever feel sure that anything is completely finished! Looking forward to hearing how things go when you send your book to Hilary Johnson, and good luck with Summersdale if you then decide to send it to them.

Hi Lesley, and thanks for your reply. I used to have an agent (the late Maggie Noach) but, no, I don't have one now and didn't have when Accent took me on. I'd like to get an agent again for a novel I'm writing but, especially in these difficult times, I suppose that would be easier said than done. Fortunately, there are still some good indie publishers who accept unagented submissions.
